Firstly can I just say I am really touched by this story, and for this reason I have questions that I keep asking myself and one of these questions that I would like to ask is, what has become of this world that we live in? To even think that a group of men armed with guns can just go around kidnapping schoolgirls from their place of education, with intentions to use them as worthless possessions is sickening not to mention barbaric. In all honesty how can a normal person in their right mind do such a thing, without being remorseful of their actions or to the girls and their families?

This story has people all over the world sharing their views and showing support for these girls and their families. Like Ramma Mosley a Los Angeles director of commercials and documentaries in the United States, “says that she believes they have been insensitive to what is going on in Africa, she then says that to think that in the year 2014, schoolgirls can be kidnapped from their school is cruel behavior”. Using Social Media to get the Message Across

#Bring Back Our Girls has went viral on Social Media platform like Facebook, twitter and people are now blogging about it. 
Celebrities and Influential people in the world have joined the social media movement, like the First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama. But she did not only join the movement, she shared her thoughts about the story saying that she and her husband the President of the United States Barak Obama, “are outraged and heartbroken over the April 15th abduction of the girls from their dormitory. goo.gl/TTtlb6.

According to Ramma Mosley the director of commercial and documentaries, the phase hashtag (#)  Bring Back Our Girls on twitter has been used more than 800 000 times. Celebrities like Chris Brown, Kerry Washington and many more have joined the movement and showing their support. This hashtag has got the social media buzzing about this story and have people roaring and outraged at the Boko Haram Gang to Bring Back Those Girls Safely and unharmed goo.gl/XfjvJY.  View video below.

 Social Media usage is increasing rapidly and one can only wonder if we still need traditional journalists to broadcast or present news to the citizens or the public, because now citizens themselves because of social media have become journalists in the comfort of their own homes, or private spaces. Social media has made it easy to get a hold of news updates without the hustle of buying newspapers and magazines, meaning that social media is helping individuals to cut costs.(goo.gl/tkLzCB). The debating group argue that “national printed newspapers have declined by 700 000, whilst newspapers are not needed anymore, people are now focusing more on the web 2.0 which is social media, because it is faster and easy to use and to access .  debatinggroup.org.uk

Social Media today.

 These days people want to have conversations with other people about the issues they read about on social media platforms, like; twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social media platforms. Individuals want to have two-way communication and not one-way communication where they cannot comment or share their views on the stories they read, see and hear about on television, newspapers and magazines. But now social media makes it easy to have conversations, comment on other people’s views and have others comment on your views as well. My point is that, Social Media is taking over traditional journalism because it is forever changing, and providing more ways in which individuals can get involved and get news that is raw, unedited and heart heating, because before news get to the newspapers and broadcast news, we find that people are already talking about it on various social media platforms.
