Bring Back Our Girls!
The story that shocked nations all around the globe.

Firstly can I just say I am really touched by this story, and for this reason I have questions that I keep asking myself and one of these questions that I would like to ask is, what has become of this world that we live in? To even think that a group of men armed with guns can just go around kidnapping schoolgirls from their place of education, with intentions to use them as worthless possessions is sickening not to mention barbaric. In all honesty how can a normal person in their right mind do such a thing, without being remorseful of their actions or to the girls and their families?

Using Social Media for such a sad story was amazing, because it united the entire World. Sadly though it seems as if our efforts have fallen into deaf eyes.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nomfudo. I agree, because socia media has gone viral with this story but i feel that not much has been put in to saving these girls which is bad. So what am basically saying is that i hear alot of talk, talk, talk and no action
DeleteI believe using social media was a bold move but it still did not make Boko Harem bring them back. The Nigerain govenmeent I believe is not doing enough but the people did their part through social media giving a voice to those kidnapped girls.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pachida. i agree that the nigerian government is not doing enough to try and bring the girls back home, and this reflects badly on their image. They should be in control of the situation with the help of everyone who wants to help and again using social media to get the message across.
DeleteFirst of all its very unforn=tunate what happened to these girls and i believe little has been done to really uncover their whereabouts. Who knew that social media has the capability to unite nations and most of all become a voice for those voiceless girls. I commend what people have done on social media to help spread the message.
ReplyDeleteThank you Phumzile. i agree, it is really unfortunate and social media has united the world in hopes of bring the girls back to where they belong and to bring down the gang that kidnapped the them.
DeleteI honestly think using social media was indeed a smart move cause it encouraged a lot of people to get involved and most important send the message across. .I mean at first I was not aware of it until I saw it on Social media...So it will certainly continue to grow and the right messages across! !!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dazzling Dee. I agree social media has made this story go viral and in a blink of an eye. Everyone wants those kids back where they belong, but I cant help but ask myself where is the government of nigeria and what are they doing to bring the girls back?
DeleteThis story is really a sore topic. As a mother to two girls just thinking of those young girls makes me sad, am angry at the men who took them. Thanks to social media the word is out but just like the opinion seeker I wonder why is the government not taking control of the situation and making sure that the girls are found.
ReplyDeleteThank you anonymous. The thing is, the government does not even realize that if they do not start responding or acting according to get the girls back it will seem like they do not care, which will only affect their image because they are not managing the situation correctly by keeping quiet.
DeleteThis story is really daunting. The #bringbackourgirls social media campaign had shown how important this is. Throughout the world people had shown empathy and had pushed the government efforts to come up with a solution. I think social social media can influence behaviour over time.
ReplyDeleteThank you Thulani. The thing is social media and everyone out there have played their part so far and the girls have been gone for too long now, so what am saying is that time is running out, we could wake tomorrow and hear that the girls have been killed. The Government of nigeria has to do something now to bring the girls back.
